My family chose SMA because we were looking for a vibrant culture and a school that could meet the unique needs of our children. We found that at SMA. Our two students are involved in every sport offered, or at least it seems that way, and love playing with their friends. When finding a school that valued each student's unique skill set, we were looking for two very different environments for our sons. We needed one to be accelerated, pushed, and challenged. For the other son we needed an environment that supported his road to mastery. We found both at SMA which is unique. We have seen huge MAP growth and we find the teachers are willing to find ways to meet their needs.
In addition, we value the Orton Gillingham program that offers direct, multi-sensory teaching strategies paired with systematic, sequential lessons focused on phonics. When we learned the primary teachers and learning co-ordinator were using the curriculum that was a huge part of our decision. We believe that SMA has a lot to offer to students that are on various roads to mastery in their religious faith, grade-level skills, and acceleration.
