Father Godfrey Mullen, OSB will speak on the development of the Church’s liturgical calendar that was adopted and revised in the post-Vatican II Council era. His talk will focus on the history of the calendar in the areas of its seasons, scriptures, and saints that make up the calendar we use in the Catholic Church.
Fr. Mullen is a Benedictine priest who lives and teaches at St. Meinrad Archabbey. He is an Assistant Professor of Sacramental and Liturgical Theology at St. Meinrad’s School of Pastoral Studies. He received a Master of Theology degree from St. Meinrad in 1993 and his Doctorate in Sacramental and Liturgical Theology from the Catholic University of America in 2003.
